I was born and raised in a small town in North Carolina. I have one sibling (an AMAZING sister) that I love with all my heart. She's my best friend and I'm so thankful for her and our close relationship.
I met my now husband when I was just 15 years old in Geometry class. We were dating for a little over a year when we found out we were going to have a baby. Yes... I was 16 and pregnant and a bundle of emotions but couldn't wait to meet and hold my beautiful baby girl.
Stevie Layne Roland was born Wednesday September 17, 2008 at 5:04 p.m.
She was 6 lbs 13 oz and 19 1/2 in. long.
My husband Steven and I got married the following year July 18, 2009. I can't believe we have been married almost 5 years. Time flies when you're having fun!!
March 2010 my husband decided to join the Navy. He graduated boot camp in May and a month later we moved to San Diego.
In June 2012 my hubby deployed for the second time and in July we found out we were expecting another baby. Excited would have been a MAJOR understatement. Steven was deployed for my ENTIRE pregnancy and came home for 6 days when she was born then left again for three more months. (yes that was a YEAR long deployment) and unless you've experienced it, words truly can't describe how HORRIBLE it is.
We welcomed our second beautiful baby girl on Thursday March 14, 2013 at 9:00 am. Journi Grace Roland was 7 lbs 8 oz and 22 1/4 in. long.
Fast forward three months to when Steven was FINALLY done with that deployment and my family (and heart) was whole again.
That puts us to where we are now. Still in San Diego but moving back to the east coast in just a couple weeks. Even though I'm beyond excited to be back in NC my heart aches a little knowing we are leaving California. Living here has been an AMAZING experience. I have grown so much as a person, a Mom and a wife. I wouldn't trade not one second for the world.
Stay tuned for more blogs and Confessional Fridays.
xoxo
Katy
